When a customer returns an order, Back Market refunds them on your behalf. These funds are then deducted from your next bill. However, if our data shows that you are trending towards a negative bill and as a consequence will be unable to cover these returns, we will hold a deposit. The deposit will be used strictly to cover future returns.
There are several reasons that may lead us to take a deposit, including but not limited to: a significant reduction in your sales, an increase in your refund rate, a daily sales limit or, in the event that we are already holding a deposit but see no changes in your trends, we will continue to retain the amount until we are confident your account is no longer at risk of slipping into a negative bill.
